Hi everyone,

Today I want to share another one of my favorite books with you. It is called “You Can Heal Your Life” by world renown author Louise Hay. In her book, she proposes that we all have the ability to heal ourselves by releasing the situation, the pain, the problem or whatever is causing you to be stagnant in your quest for wellness.. We all have the tendency to hold onto things that were said or done by people who might have hurt us, blamed us or dissed us in some harsh or uncaring way a long time ago. Those emotions fester and although we try to keep pushing them down and burying them, they slowly creep right back up to the surface and rear their ugly heads at some point.

Why We Hold On to Pain

For some, it could be out of the blue, for others it might be an ongoing situation. You have heard me say before that the things we focus and give energy to are the things that stay with us despite the fact that we would like to let go of them. We need to consciously make the decision to release these things and be willing to change. In her book, Louise shares some case studies and also some of her own personal situations; these stories help to guide the reader in how to utilize her book to suit their needs.

Using the Book as a Healing Tool

Whenever I am having a negative recurring thought, event or situation, I pull out her book and get to work. It’s not always easy because our subconscious mind continually wants to bury everything and then we keep telling ourselves and everyone else that we are ok, when in reality, we are anything but.

A Gentle Invitation to Heal

I encourage you to take a look at her book and see if there isn’t something in it for you to help heal yourself from something that has been hanging around for way too long. Take your time and be patient with yourself. These issues didn’t occur overnight so explore what you need to do to release them with joy and conscious intention. Happy reading and gentle healing…
